Dave cursed his luck, he shoulda just had Gnawty Growl while he had the chance. Ah well, nothing to do, that singing bug was going DOWN.

"Let's see him Growl at something moving too fast to care! Quick Attack, before meeting him with your own Tackle!"

Kricketot manages to get off its Growl, but Gnawty was actually slightly affected as he slams into it for a solid blow. However, the two collide in the middle of the arena with their Tackles, but as Gnawty slides back, he grins, as Kricketot is struggling to stand. Everything goes quiet, but suddenly Kricketot begins to glow. and with disbelief on everyone's face, Kricketot had turned into a Kricketune, who grins maliciously at Gnawty.

what will Dave do now?

Dave blinked as his opponent's Pokémon glowed fiercely, before changing shape, the glow fading. In its place was a creature who looked vaguely similar, but also a lot more dangerous, with scythes for forelimbs, though it still looked close to collapse.

"Huh.. and let's have a look at you, shall we?" the trainer muttered, getting his 'Dex out once more to scan the same Pokémon twice.

"Kricketune: The Cricket Pokémon, the evolved form of Kricketot. There is a village that hosts a contest based on the amazingly variable cries of this Pokémon."

Putting the device back, Dave smiled at his opponent. "That's rather impressive, I've never seen a Pokémon evolve before. However, that's just going to spur us on to battle harder! Get to it Gnawty, just because he's bigger than you doesn't mean he's better! Quick Attack into Tackle, show no mercy!"

However, things are a bit interesting now, as even as Gnawty vanishing from its Quick Attack, Kricketune grins as his arms glow, and he begins his Fury Cutter attack, which catches Gnawty in midair, and he viciously slashes him with the attack quite a few times before the Bidoof flies back. However, he doesn't quit, and he charges quickly again, and Kricketune tries again, but this time, with a Tackle. Both collide with each other, but as Gnawty slowly rises, Kricketune does not.

The kid groans a bit, but as he runs over to Kricketune, he can only stammer a bit.

"..wwweell tthhaanks I ggueess, for helping my Kricketot evolve, I'm sure that I'll destroy you next time."

And with that, Timmy hands Dave 300 PokéDollars, and walks back with Kricketune to the nearest Pokémon center. But now that that was done, where should Dave do now, other than move forward?
Level Up for Gnawty

afterward, Dave continues down the path, with the sun somewhat beginning to set, but he feels confident, even as he passes through a few trees, he notices a few Pokémon in the trees, but they seemed apprehensive or something. What should Dave do now?

Pleased at the success of his Pokémon, Dave continued on down the route, having recalled Gnawty and Zena to their PokéBalls for a good rest following their battle. In place, he figured he'd better call out his starter Pokémon, as well as his baby.

"A'Tuin, Pix, out you come guys!" the trainer called, revealing a refreshed Turtwig, and a bouncy Cleffa, who immediately jumped into Dave's arms, causing him to sweatdrop slightly. "Yeah, sorry about blacking out on you guys earlier. Great fight back there, Pix, you did well." The Normal-type smiled at the complient, before Dave turned to his starter.

"Right then, A'Tuin, you know what this is?" he asked of the Turtwig, pulling from his pack an orange-coloured disc. A'Tuin seemd confused, before shaking his head. "Hehe, that's alright. It's called a TM, or Technical Machine. It contains the info teach Pokémon new moes. This one contains an attack known as Revenge, which I reckon would be useful for a strong, sturdy Pokémon like yourself. Wanna see if you can learn it?"

The Grass-type smiled, before nodding, causing Dave to smile. "Awesome, let's just have a look then..." and the trainer got out his PokéDex, before inserting the TM disc into the drive at the side, causing an orange beam to shine over A'Tuin. While Dave waited to see the results, he looked up to some trees, noting a few nervous-looking Pokémon.

"Huh, I wonder what's up with them? I should check those guys out in a moment..."

Things are a bit interesting, as A'Tuin glows a bright brown, before a knowledgable glint appears in his eye. Apparently the Revenge TM worked, and with it, A'Tuin now knows something new. However, the bright light had scared some Pokémon away, and angered some others, and as a PokéBall crashes off of a tree, barely missing one of the Pokémon, yet another trainer appears, a bit angry.

"Hey you, you cost me a Pokémon, and now I'm mad, Zubat, Starly I need you now!"

and yet again you're thrust into battle, this time it's 2 v 2. but at any rate it should waste enough time to make it nightfall, but either way, this guy doesn't look like he's willing to talk. What will Dave do now?

Dave was pleased that his Turtwig had the beginnings of knowing a new move, but the mood was soon wrecked by a new trainer. Now faced with two Pokémon at once, Dave was forced to respond. Who better to use that the Pokémon he had with him right now?

"Sorry about that, man. Didn't mean to disrupt your catching, but I'll satisfy your appetite for battle sure enough." Dave replied, before nodding at his two Pokémon. "A'Tuin, Pix, stand ready, we're gonna do this."

A'Tuin, with his new knowledge, stepped up to face the two Flying-types, while Pix hopped down from his trainer's arms, his confidance somewhat boosted by his friend in the fray along with him.

Dave whipped out his PokéDex once more, to get some more intel on the battle at hand. "Zubat: The Bat Pokémon. It checks its surroundings and location using reflections of the ultrasonic waves from its mouth. Starly: The Starling Pokémon. Because they are weak individually, they form groups. However, they bicker if the group grows too big."

"Cool stuff. Anyways, let's do this guys! Pix, start by Charming Starly, while A'Tuin, Tackle Zubat. Then use another, while Pix Pounds on Starly."

"Eh, don't worry about it, but worry about your Pokémon. Zubat, quick, Astonish the Cleffa, and then Leech Life Turtwig, Starly, Quick Attack Turtwig, then Growl!"

Things get interesting quick, as Pix tries to Charm Starly a bit, but the effects are minimal, the Cleffa is startled badly by the Astonish of Zubat, but this leaves the bat open for A'Tuin's Tackle, and it's sent flying as Starly gets into the fray, not visibly troubled, as it Quick Attacks into A'Tuin for a decent hit.

Meanwhile, Zubat flies back, and as A'Tuin charges it again, it adeptly dodges with its ability of flight, and latches on to A'Tuin's head, painfully Leeching the Life from him as Pix Pounds Starly, but is a bit intimidated by Starly's angry Growl. Regardless everyone is ready to continue, so what will Dave do now?

Dave seemed concerned for his Pokémon, especially Pix, but knew that he had to be strong for them. He knew they could do this.

"Alright guys, great job! A'Tuin, Withdraw against any hits, before taking out some Revenge on Starly. Pix, a pair of Pounds on Zubat, if you'd be so kind." he ordered, hoping that these would pay off.

"Heh, let the Turtwig hide, now then, Starly and Zubat, double Quick Attack on the Cleffa, before you Growl Starly, then Zubat, you Tackle Turtwig!"

Things weren't as good this time, as while A'Tuin Withdraws, increasing his defense, but as Pix charges Starly, the two collide with their attacks, but not before Zubat expertly knocks Pix away with its own Quick Attack, as Starly manages to get out a bit more unscathed. Either way, Pix doesn't look too well, even before Starly's Growl, but it was concerned for Turtwig, who charges at Starly, and pretty pissed at the two's treatment of Pix, slams it into the ground with its Revenge, but without taking much damage, it doesn't do much at all. Meanwhile, Zubat goes to tackle A'Tuin, but this time, Pix gets his revenge, Pounding the Zubat into the ground, and as the two fliers struggle to get off the ground, Pix and A'Tuin grin at each other, but still look battered, even as Dave's opponent grins.

"Hmph, well kid you're good- but the magic Owen isn't going to be beaten that easy, so now then, Zubat, Quick Attack, then Leech Life Turtwig, and Starly, Quick Attack, then Tackle Cleffa, don't let up either!"

As the two Pokémon charge, Dave doesn't have much time... what is he going to do now?

Dave had to think fast as his opponent ordered, before realising he had to strike fast.

"A'Tuin, Tackle Zubat before it can get off the ground, before you unleash hell... er, I mean Reveng upon Starly. Pix, Double Pound on Starly before it realises what's going on. C'mon guys, you can do this!" he ordered, hoping they could hit the grounded Pokémon.

Things are quickly closing down, as Turtwig Tackles Zubat heavily, but the bat had gotten enough of a Quick Attack to have the two collide, as similarly to their partners, Pix and Starly had again collided with a Pound and Quick Attack, but this time, Starly does win out, but Pix doesn't quick, charging the Starly again.

Meanwhile Zubat had yet again latched onto A'Tuin, but the Turtwig ignores his annoying guest, and charges at Starly, who was still fighting with Pix yet again, however the Cleffa was winning out, and A'Tuin puts the finishing blow on Starly, as the bird simply goes limp after the collision from this Revenge, but the forgotten Zubat looks pretty healthy, even after being shaken off, as A'Tuin looks visibly weakened. However, with a 2 vs 1 scenario remaining, it's a wonder if this scenario isn't already in control.

But with A'Tuin so tired, and Pix not in the best shape, what will Dave do now?

Dave's heart leaped as his opponent's Starly went down, but it was no time to celebrate, as the Zubat was still fairly well-off. But it was two against one, no way was he about to lose now.

"Fantatic job guys, you're doing awesome! But don't get complacent, so let's pile on the pressure. A'Tuin, Double Tackle Zubat, while Pix, Double Pound. Pretty unoriginal orders, I agree, but we've gotta win this!"

"Zubat, Quick Attack, then get some air now!" Owen cries out to his bat Pokémon.

Zubat was a bit fresher, but at any rate, Turtwig manages to Tackle Zubat once before it gets into the air, but the fact was that that was near the end of the line, as the Turtwig collapses into the dirt, it seems that those Leech Lifes were nearly the end of it, but it's concious, but barely moving. However, as Zubat begins to get into the air, Pix was the one thing stopping him from getting full height, and that was because he was holding on to the bat. However as he Pounds his belly, the bat wasn't sinking, and A'Tuin was very slowly getting up. Zubat was struggling to get some air, and Owen quickly shouts at it.

"Zubat, hurry, blast that Cleffa off with a Quick Attack, then finish Turtwig off with a Leech Life, HURRY!"

The thing is, that Zubat's having some issues, but the issue was that Dave doesn't have much time left- what will he do now?

Dave could see that while his Pokémon were doing great, Zubat was still putting up a fight. Desperate times called for drastic measures.

"A'Tuin, catch your breath for now, before Tackleng Zubat full-force as he comes in to attack you. Pix, you're doing great buddy! Mimic Quick Attack, then use Quick Attack on Zubat!"

Pix grins, as it begins to use Mimic to learn Quick Attack, if a bit quickly, as A'Tuin prepares itself for one final charge. However, Zubat blasts Pix off with its own Quick Attack, and charges at A'Tuin. The Turtwig grins, and charges at its foe, but as eerily similar to an earlier attempt, Zubat spins around, but A'Tuin turns with it, Tackling it hard, and right back into the charging Pix, who's own Quick Attack slams into Zubat, sending it flying back into the ground, and unable to continue.

Level Up for Pix and A'Tuin

Pix and A'Tuin pant exhaustedly, if happy, as Owen grimaces irratatedly before passing you 300 more PokéDollars.

"Well that was interesting, but I'll catch you around.

Dave wasn't sure what to do now, they were really too far from Sandgem to dash back to the Pokémon Center, but everyone, including himself needed a break. What should he do now?

{OOC: This means A'Tuin learns Absorb, right? Sorry for any godmodding >.>;;}

Dave smiled as his Pokémon were victorious, only just. He bid farewell to the his opponent, before letting his Pokémon rest, kneeling down to pat A'Tuin's shell, as well give Pix a hug. "Well done you two, I'm really proud of both of you." Pix chirped happily, while A'Tuin nodded.

Suddenly, the Turtwig focused on some grass nearby, before glowing, while the patch of grass did the same. It seemed like the Turtwig was trying to regain some health from it. Dave smiled at this. "Awesome A'Tuin, it looks like you learned Absorb!" Turtwig smiled, though he still looked exhausted. Dave fished around his belt, before pulling out his PokéBall. "Here buddy, have a good rest." he said, recalling his Starter, before standing back up, holding the similarly-tired Pix to his chest.

"Hmm... I wonder if we could make it to the next town? These guys need some healing done." the trainer pondered. "Jubilife can't be that far, can it?"

Well, there was only one way to find out. After catching his breath, Dave set off, Pix riding on his shoulder, hoping to reach the end of this route soon.

Things were quiet for a while, but as the exhausted group treked on, it was clear that they would need a break soon. However, as night fell, it was clear that nothing much was going to happen though, but as the group walked slower and slower, noises grew louder and louder. However, it was clear that nothing was going to stop the trio, well, except for a loud Roar from somewhere, which freezes Dave in place... just what had made that noise?

Dave stopped in his tracks, scared stiff by the Roar that echoed around the route. Pix squeaked in alarm, and the trainer brought the Cleffa down off his shoulder, holding him to his chest once more. Looking around, he attempted to see what had made the noise, trying to look for any Pokémon amid the foliage.

"Hello? Anyone there?" he called, but soon realised that if there were any dangerous Pokémon out there, announcing his location wouldn't be exactly smart.

Things don't seem to be too good, as some things finally show in the light, as surprisingly a Houndoom appears in the light. as it grins, you notice that things aren't as peaceful as you thought, as a few more Houndour are blocking your escape routes, and in all honesty, Dave's a bit angry, but noticing that there was no choice but to fight, what can Dave do- it's clear that the Houndour and Houndoom were stalking them, but it seemed that Houndoom was the only one who would fight.

What would Dave do now?

Dave blinked in surprise as he was suddenly confronted by a Houndoom, and several Houndour. Looking for a way out, he saw none. This was conflicting, as Dave would have loved to have captured one of these Pokémon, but in the circumstances that didn't seem to be an option.

"Grah, can't a guy get a break?" he grumbled, before eyeing the lead Houndoom. "So, you wanna battle, huh?" the canid barked in reply.

"I'll take that as a yes. Right then, since two of my Pokémon are shattered, and another had a fairly close battle, that leaves me with one choice. Zena, you're up!"

In a flash of light, the Shinx appeared before the Houndoom. Zena stretched, seeming relatively disinterested in what was going on, like all cats everywhere, before a bark from the hellhound caused her fur to bristle. Dave took the chance to scan the creature, as well as its cohorts.

"Houndour: The Dark Pokémon. It is smart enough to hunt in packs. It uses a variety of cries for communicating with others.
Houndoom: The Dark Pokémon, the evolved form of Houndour. The flames it breathes when angry contain toxins. If they cause a burn, it will hurt forever.
"

"Sounds... delightful. Right then, let's go Zena. Let's watch what it's gonna do, before Tackleng it!"

And very predictably, Zena charges bravely at the Houndoom, but as it was assumed, a quick Dark Pulse simply explodes...surprisingly behind her, and she slams into Houndoom for a small hit, the larger dog doesn't really notice it much, and it tries again, this time with a Fire Fang, and as it flings Zena away, the small Shinx is already KO'ed before it hits the ground. This really, really doesn't look good, but Dave hears a noise in the trees around, as he quickly returns Zena to her PokéBall... I wonder what that could be, and what can Dave do now?

"Dammit. Can't say I didn't expect that. Return, Zena, bravely attempted." muttered Dave, disappointed at himself for letting his Pokémon down as he called her back.

Hearing a noise in the trees, Dave looked around, noticing the Houndoom was too. "Er, hello? Someone there? Little help, please?" he asked, feeling somewhat unnerved, knowing that if Zena had no chance, then none of his other Pokémon did.

Things don't go well, but after noticing that Dave's attention was somewhere, the Houndour and Houndoom blast the trees with various attacks, but nothing falls out, other than a random Silcoon or two. Either way, it's clear that the group is unpleased, and aren't going to move a bit. However, Dave looks around, and sees something staring at him, unnoticed. whatever it is, it's making it very clear that it can't do a thing until the Houndoom is distracted. Clearly Dave doesn't like the idea, but the only way to distract him... well Dave possibly gets what the mystery guest wants. What should he do now?

Dave managed to make out someone... or something, hidden in the trees. Maybe it could help, whatever it was, but Dave needed to provide a distraction, and the only way to do that...

The trainer inwardly kicked himself, while throwing a PokéBall forward. "Gnawty, come on out!" and the Bidoof was on the field, looking ready to go despite his earlier conflict.

"Let's do this man! Quick Attack into a Tackle!"
