"Growl to stop it from going anywhere, then Tackle it with your superior weight advantage!" Alex ordered, rather strategically.

When the round began Pichu instantly began to head off deeper into the cluster of trees but was quickly stopped in it's tracks by it's opponent whom began to Growl at him quite angrily. Pichu's body froze as the sound entered his ears and didn't dare make a move, not even to turn around as it heard the massive Bidoof's footsteps come trodding along behind him. Eventually a shadow came over Pichu before he was quickly trounced into the ground by the much larger mouse Pokémon. As he weighed in about 10x as much as the poor Pichu the tiny electric mouse took a lot of damage from the Tackle that sent him sprawling out across the ground. As he gets up he notices the Bidoof smirking at him in his triumph which quickly angers the already tired and weakened Pichu. More than happy to follow his trainers orders he fires off another sickening Thunder Shock that arcs it's way over to the Bidoof whom is struck hard in the face once again.

That last attack Pichu took dealt some great damage, and it won't be able to take very many more of them if it hopes to win this fight. Nor will he be able to do much more attacking as his energy levels have hit critical. Bidoof on the other hand took another hard hit and is relatively in the same boat as Pichu's energy levels. One more good attack is all it'll take.

"Hm." Alex hummed, clearly seeing the battle was about to end. "Keep on 'em with the Tackles Bidoof! You just need to land one and it's all over!"

And so while Bidoof begins to charge in his regular old technique of spamming Tackles at his much smaller opponent the exhausted Pichu finds himself with only one option. To spam him right back, directly in the face with a Thunder Shock. As Bidoof quickly makes it's way towards the Pichu it finds itself a bit annoyed that it sent it flying so far back as it gives Pichu ample time to charge up a quick electric attack and fire it off before Bidoof can reach him. As the electricity courses through his veins Bidoof keels over onto his side, completely unconscious. However, a few meters away the exhausted Pichu finds himself fainting from exhaustion as well, unable to go on.

Level up for Pichu!

"Bidoof return," Alex called out, holding out his Pokémon's ball, "Haha, that was a pretty sick battle my man... But it's not over yet," Alex said, noticing another filled PokéBall in Dezmond's possession.

"Go, Shinx! Make me proud," Alex calls out once again, ripping another PokéBall out from behind him and out onto the field.

The PokéBall smashes onto the hard ground and splits open to reveal an electric type Pokémon that looks an awful lot like a teal-colored lion cub.

Faced with another Pokémon will Dezmond continue the battle, or forfeit?

"Good job Pichu, you did well" Dezmond threw out the PokéBall, which sucked up the KO'd Pichu, and launched back at Dezmond. "Okay, Light, your go!" Light looked up at Dezmond and replied "Chiiim!" before charging towards the battlefield. "Use Leer then Scratch!"

So the battle continues as Alex and Dezmond recall their fallen Pokémon as they drew a tie. The aforementioned Shinx is met by Dezmond's only remaining Pokémon, Light the Chimchar who replies to her trainers confidence with a short cry before turning back to Alex and his Shinx.

"Leer right back at her Shinx, then Bite that arm of hers!" Alex orders.

And so Light rushes off into battle by shooting off a quick Leer at her opponent whom responds with an equally as terrifying Leer, the two attacks canceling each other out. After the effects fade from their eyes, Shinx and Light rush off towards one another with their new attacks. Light brings her claws up and quickly swipes at the Shinx whom is swatted in the side of the face and knocked aside as he is viciously Scratched. Responding, Shinx quickly retaliates by lunging back towards his foe with his mouth wide open for a Bite attack that hits home and lands on Light's arm as she begins to draw her hand back.

"Nicely done, Shinx. Now Whip it with your Tail before Bite-ing it again!" Alex ordered, shooting his arm out towards Dezmond and Light.

Leer it when it's going for the tail whip, then use Ember just before it bites!

As Shinx began to spin himself around Light quickly fired off another deadly Leer towards her opponent. Unfortunately for her Shinx had already done a 180 and was quickly Whipping his Tail around for a vicious Tail Whip across the face of Light who clenched his eyes shut as the sharp tail of Shinx knocked Light's eyesight off target. Capitalizing on his momentum Shinx then continued it's spin and completed a full 360 before quickly launching itself headfirst with it's mouth open at Light. As it came in for a vicious Bite attack Light quickly shot off a volley of Embers directly into the mouth and around the face of the lion cub whom managed to clench down on Light's arm once again shortly after.

Light took some extra damage this round from that Tail Whip but not by much as she managed to score a critical hit by Embering inside of Shinx's mouth. So far Shinx is using more energy than Light, however he's also dealing more damage.

"He wants to use same strategies as before? Fair enough! Shinx, Growl to stop it from reaching a tree then conserve some energy and just use Tail Whip."

Having the initiative Light quickly burst away from her opponent and to the nearest tree it could find before being stopped dead in it's tracks by Shinx's fierce Growl attack that sent shivers down her spine. Light managed to have the courage to turn and face her opponent however before being viciously Whipped across the face by Shinx's Tail once again. EnRAEGed at this the fear bled out through Light's mouth in the form of more blazing Embers that struck Shinx hard in the face for some more good damage.

With the round coming to a close Light managed to savor her energy some and still get off a reasonably amount of damage. Shinx on the other hand used up very little energy at all and only dealt minimal damage. Light is now in the health lead and energy lead.

Alex cringed a bit as he saw his 'mon take a hard fire attack for the second time in a row. "Shake it off, buddy! We can do this, just Bite down on it before it can get away then Tackle it. Bring the pain!"

Ember inside it's mouth just before it bites. Dodge the tackle and continue to get to the tree.

Planning to escape to the trees once more this round Light awaited Shinx to open it's mouth before spraying another volley of Embers inside it's mouth. She didn't have to wait long as Shinx quickly dove in for another Bite, taking aforementioned fire damage before chomping down on Light's shoulder. Light shrieked in pain as the attack hurt but was able to easily shake it off as Shinx released her and stepped back a bit, in preparation for a Tackle attack. As Shinx stepped back Light noticed a tree relatively close by behind the Shinx and prepared itself for a dodge by rushing off towards her opponent. At the same time Shinx charged in for his own respective attack but was met with failure as Light nimbly hopped up into the air and propelled herself upwards into the tree behind Shinx by pushing down on Shinx's head. Shinx skidded head first into the ground as Light flew through the air, quickly and easily grabbing the nearby tree branch and righting herself on top of it.

Both 'mon took some damage this round, Shinx moreso as Light landed another critical by hitting him in the mouth with an Ember. He's getting quite low on health while Light retains a nice lead above him. Energy is basically the opposite as Light is exerting much more energy than Shinx.

"Grr." Alex said, jokingly. "Knock it out of the tree with as many Tackles as it takes, then keep it on the ground with a Bite. And don't let it go after clenching down!" He ordered, trying to come up with a strategy.

Let it waste it's energy with all those tackles. I know you can hold on! If you fall, Ember into it's mouth just like last time. If you manage to stay in the tree, just fire a volley of Embers.

So with his opponent up in a tree, Shinx takes it's trainers advice by bashing it's skull off of said tree with a vicious Tackle. This ends up shaking the tree and as Light was a bit unprepared for the sudden tremor he loses his footing and come tumbling down out of the tree, unable to use his monkey/matrix-like skills to catch much of anything on the way down. He crashes into the ground below for some good damage before getting up and seeing Shinx racing towards him with his mouth wide open once again. Recycling his old strategy, Light fires off more Embers into the Shinx's mouth which results in the lion cub snapping his jaws shut and falling to the ground unconscious.

Level up for Light! Light is now level 9 and has learned the move Taunt!

"Crap!" Alex said, not quite that shocked that he lost, "Return Shinx. I'm proud of you no matter what, you know that," He said, recalling the fallen 'mon into it's ball.

Alex returned the ball to his belt and made his way over to Dezmond while taking out a wad of cash. He quickly counted out a few bills and handed them to his opponent before smirking and saying, "That was a great battle man. You've got a good head on your shoulders to come up with those strategies. Me, I just like to charge in and take 'em out, you know what I'm saying?"

Dezmond received 300 PokéDollars!

"Anyways," Alex continued, "I'll see you around. Maybe we can have a rematch sometime?" He finished, walking off away from Dezmond and continuing on the Route.

Dezmond looked ahead to see the magnificent Jubilife City just moments ahead of him. With both of his new 'mon fairly beaten up he figured it'd be a good idea to head inside and get them healed up before doing anything else. Once he was there he could even stock up on some items from the PokéMart to help him out in the field.

You may now proceed to Jubilife City.
