Training session.

Post by AutoTuneTheDeaf on Sun Oct 10, 2010 10:31 pm

Dezmond decided he wanted to train his Pokémon a little bit more before advancing, so he doubled back to Route 202 in search for wild Pokémon.

"Sure hope this doesn't take long, eh, Light?"

"Chiiim-Char!"

"Yeah. I agree. Lets go take a look in the tall grass, eh?"

"Chiiim!"

Dezmond nodded and headed for the tall grass. Just before entering, he took a deep sigh, and walked into the grass, ready to expect the unexpected.

As Dezmond strutted out back onto Route 202 with his trusty companion Light by his side he ventured into the tall grass in search of new Pokémon he could battle and train on. Perhaps he would even find some Pokémon to add to his team? Who knows? Well, Dezmond was about to find out.

Dezmond creeped through a nearby patch of tall grass in search of a new opponent for his team to face when a very peculiar looking pink slug-like Pokémon that looked an awful lot like a mini-version of a Lapras slithered by on the ground in front of Dezmond, completely carefree and oblivious to Dezmond and his Chimchar. The Pokémon was so oblivious in fact that in bashfully slithered right past Dezmond without even giving him a second glance.

Unbenownst to Dezmond this Pokémon was a very rare sighting all the way out on Route 202; a Shellos. It was a unique Pokémon in it's own respect that it's color and shape altered depending on the side of Sinnoh that you encountered it on. Since Dezmond was on the western side of Sinnoh the Shellos that he encountered had a pink-colored back with small spike-like protrusions on it while the underside of it is white. On its head is a ring of pink fleshy knobs arranged like a flower.

Faced with this rare, new Pokémon what will Dezmond do?

"What the god damn hell is that thing?"

Dezmond whipped out his PokéDex and scanned the new Pokémon.

"Shellos, the Sea Slug Pokémon. A mysterious purple fluid oozes out of its soft body when Shellos is strongly squeezed. Two kinds of Shellos, pink and blue, have been confirmed."

"Wait... It's a SEA slug Pokémon? a SEA Pokémon? Sorry Light, i gotta use Pichu for this one."

The Chimchar nodded in agreement, although it was clearly saddened by this choice

Dezmond took the Pichu's PokéBall and threw it to the battlefield. "Alright, Pichu, Use Charm, followed by a Thunder Shock!"

Liking the idea of battling a water Pokémon Dezmond wisely sends out his Pichu whom remains unnamed as of yet. As he does the Shellos turns it's head as out of the corner of it's eye it spots the PokéBall's intense flash of light. It pivots it's body and cries happily at the baby Pokémon with a wide grin on it's face.

Pichu has different intentions however as his trainer fires off some orders for it to follow, intending to get Pichu some more battling experience.

"Alright, Pichu, Use Charm, followed by a Thunder Shock!"

And so Pichu settles down on the ground and imitates the cutest pair of sad puppy dog eyes you can ever imagine, Dezmond even feeling his heart melt a bit as he spots his Pokémon's Charm. The Shellos can't help but crying out in delight at seeing the unbearably cute 'mon and thus slithers it's way over to it and begins rubbing it's slimy head against Pichu's. He actually doesn't mind the slime that rubs off of Shellos and enjoys the praise quite a lot, making his next move a bit difficult to pull of as he lets loose a vicious Thunder Shock at close range that thoroughly fries the Shellos and sends it sliding backwards away from Pichu in fear. As a response the Shellos quickly skids across the ground and kicks up a bunch of mud onto it's foe. The Mud Sport takes effect, nicely reducing all electric attacks strength by half for the duration of the battle. With it's weakness now taken care of Shellos then slides in for a Tackle upon the tiny, mud-covered mouse whom is sent sprawling backwards as the attack hits home for some nice damage.

Shellos pulled off a pretty clever maneuver this early in the battle, quickly disabling it's opponents ability to spam electric attacks for massive damage. However it's already taken a hefty amount of damage from the first Thunder Shock, and so it is quite low on health in comparison to Pichu whom is fine.

Proud of its own intelligence Shellos appears to be sliding towards Pichu for another Tackle-attack. What will Dezmond do?

With the Shellos sliding at a high speed closer and closer to Pichu for a nice Tackle attack Dezmond orders him to Dodge, which the little electric mouse does appropriately by rolling out of the way as the equally as tiny slug Pokémon drifts past him before slowing down and stopping. Looking rather annoyed that the little Pokémon so easily dodged it's attack the Shellos prepares itself for a barrage of attacks from behind by Hardening it's body. This is actually quite a smart move as Pichu quickly comes in with it's Tail Whipping around violently across the back of Shellos, whom barely feels anything at all and thus takes next to no damage from the already fairly weak attack.

Shellos took pretty much no damage this time and used up only a little bit of energy while Pichu strained himself with that dodge a bit. Shellos is still lower on health while Pichu is burning through it's energy faster than Shellos is.

The next round gets off to an electrifying start as Pichu fires off another Thunder Shock which arcs it's way across the short distance between him and his opponent. Shellos does it's best to dodge the attack, but as it's a slug it has a bit of trouble moving fast enough to dodge the lightning fast attack. Thus it is struck hard in the face for some strong damage, albeit cut in half thanks to Mud Sport. Nonetheless the attack does about normal damage to Shellos as if it weren't a water Pokémon, which is to say a lot, 'causing the water 'mon to recoil back a bit as it's system is fried once again. Rather beaten up already the Shellos tries a different tactic by kicking up some more Mud, this time with intentions to Slap it across the face of Pichu whom is taken a bit off guard by the attack, thus taking some light SE damage from it as well as having it's eyesight mucked up from the mud.

Shellos took more really good damage this round and is now below half health by a lot, while it's energy still remains a good bit above Pichu's. Pichu is starting to breath a bit heavier and it's eyes are clouded with mud making it a bit of a hassle to see, though it can still vaguely make out the shape of Shellos.

With it's ability to see reduced Shellos is unsatisified and is attempting another Mud-Slap to really lay on the status effect.

What will Dezmond do?

With Shellos barrelling forwards toward the tiny little Pichu the electric mouse opts for a Dodge as the sea slug kicks up another pile of Mud that it had intended to use to Slap Pichu across the face with. The attack falls short as the Pichu with a diminished ability to see is still able to swiftly roll out of the way of the charging silhouette of his opponent the pink Shellos. However as it's dodge was a bit more clumsy than usual Pichu takes a bit of time to regain her bearings and as such Shellos sees this as an oppourtunity to dish out some damage. It quickly charges in once again, though this time from behind and with a vicious Tackle attack that knocks Pichu over and sends him sprawling away from the Shellos. As he gets up though he is able to easily pick out his opponent location and thus fires off an erratic Thunder Shock at it, the beam of electric energy doing what it does best; frying the system of 'dem water types. Shellos recoils back once again, this time in severe pain and getting close to fainting.

Pichu dealt out some nice damage once again, and thus Shellos is getting low on health. It'll hit critical soon, most likely with one more attack. Pichu's breathing is getting heavier now however and will not be able to keep up it's assault much longer, shoulder Shellos somehow start dodging his attacks.

So Dezmond reaches for one of his remaining empty PokéBalls, sure that his Pichu will be able to take the Shellos out in this round with his typespammy attacks.

Shellos has different plans however as he rushes in for another quick Tackle attack before being met halfway by Pichu's Thunder Shock which quickly strikes the water-type for some strong damage and effectively stops it in it's tracks. Barely hanging on Shellos fights through the pain and fights onwards by kicking up another Mud-Slap at his foe whom gets another nice faceful of mud just after he fires off one final Thunder Shock that once again strikes the sea slug for some intense damage. The Shellos cries out in pain as it's system is fried for the fourth or fifth time this match. It fights it's hardest to stay awake but ends up failing miserably as the electricity is too much to take. It keels over onto it's side with it's tongue hanging out, unconscious.

Level up for Pichu!

Smiling at his Pichu's dominance in this match Dezmond promptly throws his PokéBall as the Shellos falls over. The ball arcs through the air before panging off of the defeated Shellos body, rebounding up a bit and hanging there momentarily in mid-air. The ball then splits open around the middle while it shoots out a thick red laser that quickly sucks up the sea slug and captures it in the ball. The PokéBall falls to the ground and doesn't even wiggle once as the Shellos is unconscious and unable to try and fight it's way out of the PokéBall.

Congratulations! Dezmond has caught a Lv5 Male Shellos! He knows the attacks Mud-Slap, Mud Sport and Harden.

Reveling in his victory Dezmond makes his way over to his Pichu and his new Shellos whom remains unconscious and defeated inside the PokéBall, picking it up as he stops in front of it.

With a new Pokémon added to his team what will be Dezmond's next move?

"Alright, Light, one more battle, wadda say?"

"Chim-CHAR"

"Alright, another battle it is."

Dezmond quickly remembered his Pichu was still standing, gazing at nothing, so he quickly put the Pichu in it's PokéBall and continued to another patch of tall grass.

"Okay, Light, get ready, anything could attack"

And with that, the duo entered the tall grass.

With his quite exhausted Pichu now taking a well deserved rest inside of his PokéBall Dezmond asks his trusty Chimchar if he feels they should press on forwards. She responds with a simple cry, answering confidently yes as she was eager to try her hand at some more combat, plus if they ever got into a tough spot Dezmond always had his recently purchased Potions he could use.

So the two set off into the tall grass once again, in search of another opponent to face. They soon found a lone Starly sitting in a tree, seemingly mind it's own business. It sort of looked like it was sleeping as Dezmond approached it further. As he did, he accidently stepped on a twig in the regular old cliche fashion. A loud crunch cut through the silence on the Route and caused the Starly's eyes to snap open. It gave Dezmond a menacing look, but made no movement whatsoever.

What will do Dezmond do?

The Starly watches carefully as Dezmond sends out his Chimchar, Light, to fight for him. The Starly is cautious, as it doesn't quite suspect a battle but as it sees Light's mouth open for an attack it quickly flies off out of the tree.

And so it begins with Light trying to start a forest fire by firing off a volley of Embers into the nearby tree where the Starly was resting, however when she closes her mouth to see her attack hit she finds herself being blindsided by the lightning fast bird whom flew up into the air shortly before Light's Embers left her mouth, where it then proceeded to kamikaze it's way to the ground in a reckless Tackle. The velocity at which Starly was travelling added quite a punch to it's attack and successfully knocked Light over onto her side as she was unprepared for the unexpected attack. She quickly got to her feet only to smashed harshly in the face by the Starly once again whom used it's speed to add damage to it's second Tackle. Light was barely able to stay standing from this one and was knocked over once more as Starly quickly headed in for a Quick Attack to put her over the edge.

A bit dazed, Light takes a second to sit on the ground and collect herself after such a vicious and quick assault. She gets to her feet once more as she sees the tiny Starly heading back to it's tree. It quickly darts around the trunk in a u-turn fashion and heads straight for Light in what appears to be another vicious Tackle.

What will Dezmond do?

So the second round begins with Light venting her RAEG from the previous round with a Growl that sends chills down Starly's spine. Despite the spanking it gave the fire monkey last round it is still a bit intimidated by the fiery appearance of the 'mon and as such slows down considerably before hitting Light for some pretty light damage. Light then proceeds to open it's mouth once again and fire off another volley of Embers that strike Starly and thoroughly burn it's feathers for some pretty good damage.

The Starly isn't quite done with Light however as it quickly flies off into the air and prepares itself for another attack, the flames that had ignited on Starly quickly dissipating as the cool wind extinguished them. It then proceeded to divebomb towards Light once again with it's beak pointed outwards, ready for a Quick Attack. As this was a pretty, you know, quick attack Light was barely able to dodge the attack as Starly managed to clip her side and send her spinning and stumbling away, taking some reduced damage.

Starly lost it's edge a bit in this round, dealing hardly any damage while taking a good hit itself. It still remains above Light by a decent bit though. Energy wise it's getting tired quickly, but still has plenty in the tank.

Re: Training session.

Post by DTG6407 on Sun Oct 17, 2010 7:23 pm

With things getting pretty intense, Light decides its time to add some insult to injury and as such she begins dishing out Taunts to really mess with the Starly's head. It appeared to work, as Light threw out a very distinct comment about the Starly's mother that drove it crazy and forced it into action. Light and Dezmond were a little unsure of what the bird was actually doing as it stood motionless for a second before breathing in a ton of air and blasting it outwards from it's beak at Light. The air was extremely hot, and tiny bits of flame even appeared within it as the Heat Wave washed over Chimchar for some really high damage, thankfully cut in half due to resistances. Light doesn't look all that bothered but the intense increase in temperature, but the heat does cause some pain which makes her really uncomfortable. She ends up grinning evilly before firing off an Ember at her foe, attempting to show it how a real Fire-attack should be executed: By a Fire Pokémon. The Starly is easily able to avoid this barrage of fire as it swiftly glides low to the ground, dodging the Embers as they crash around it before taking off into the sky once again. This time it decides to barrel downwards in a fierce Tackle attack that Light and Dezmond are all too familiar with, and as this time Starly is quite a bit exhausted it travels noticeably slower, allowing Light to swiftly roll out of the way of the attack and 'cause the Starly to come close to face-planting into the ground. It manages to regain it's altitude and glide very close to the ground before taking off into the air again.

Starly used up a ton of energy with it's Heat Wave, and by the looks of it, it won't be able to hang on very much longer with the way it's throwing out attacks. It's not going to be able to fire off another Heat Wave again this battle. Health-wise, Light has taken a turn for the worse as it is now even further below the Starly's.

By the looks of things, it's getting ready for another skyward Tackle attack.

With Starly's breathing coming out in ragged pants, Light takes off into the nearby cluster of trees. The Starly quickly rockets down back to the ground upon seeing this and curves gracefully to glide along the ground, Tackle-ing the back of Light's legs and sending her falling backwards. She lands on her head and begins to recover before she is brutally rocked in the face once again by a Quick Attack as she is recovering. The damage beginning to add up Starly decides to keep on the offensive by quickly bolting off in another Tackle. Light has had enough with the physical abuse for this round, and as she rights herself she is more than ready to perform a dodge as the Starly comes around for it's next Tackle attack. The Starly ends up missing Light and smashing into a tree she had coincidentally been standing in front of, 'causing some harsh damage to the Starly and exhausting it further.

With this round over, it's clear that Starly isn't going to survive the next round. It's getting low on health and has hit critical levels for energy while Light has hit critical levels for health but remains quite energized in comparison to Starly.

Before the Starly could do anything at all he looked up to the glare of a rather battered Chimchar. The Leer took full effect on the Starly despite Light's appearance, freezing up his joints and muscles as she sprayed more hot Embers all over the face of the bird. Recoiling backwards from the attack the Starly righted itself before collapsing to the ground, unable to continue in it's battered state. Dezmond quicky whipped out his PokéBall onto the field, the ball arcing just like it had when he fought the Shellos. It crashed against the body of the Starly whom was far too exhausted and sore to do anything about it.

Level up for Light!

The ball sucked the little animal up and locked itself tight, the light on the middle button blinking on and off rapidly before finally remaining on the normal solid white color, a satisfying pinging noise sounding from the ball as it registered Starly as now being Dezmond's property... Or something like that.

Congratulations! Dezmond has caught a level 4 female Starly. It knows the moves Tackle, Growl and the MT move Heat Wave.

With the PokéBall sitting in the middle of the field Light hobbled over to it and scooped it up in her hands before returning to her trainer and handing it to him.

Suddenly, a voice rang out at Dezmond. The voice belonged to a large burly man wearing a dark, burgundy red t-shirt that was stretched tight across his massive chest, the sleeves barely reaching down past his shoulders at all with a pair of sleek red pants as well that complimented his shirt, albeit being a bit loose and not stuck to his skin. On his head was a red baseball cap-like hat that went with the rest of his outfit. His face looked rather tough as his cheekbones and jaw line were all quite prominent with a mustache adorned above his upper lip. His hair was a dark brownish color that reached only slightly down past his hat.

"Hey, you!" The man called, witnessing the battle that had taken place, "I saw and heard what you tried to do there! You ordered your Chimchar to try and burn down that tree." He accused, "I am a member of the SNPS, the Sinnoh Nature Preservation Society, and what you just did I find appalling and foolish, not to mention dangerous. You know how many Pokémon's homes you could've destroyed had your Chimchar been a bit stronger? There's nothing wrong with a little Pokémon battle, but leave nature out of this. There's no need to harm the environment, now battle me to make up for your crimes against the world!"

Dezmond glanced at the SNPS member and gave him a smirk smile. "You serious? You're serious aren't you?" Dezmond began laughing out loud. "Oh yeah, im gonna burn THAT big ass tree down with a little fire ball. I wasn't thinking at that point, but now it's not gonna happen. Wait, here, lemme borrow a lighter and i'll 'Burn this tree down, herp derp'"

It was obvious the trainer was beginning to RAEG.

"Bawh, alright i'll fight you, but just because i dont wanna make up for my 'crimes against the world'" Dezmond finished in a sarcastic tone.

Dezmond pulled a small vial of potion out of his pocket and gave it to his Chimchar.

"Alright, wadda got?"
