Geo's Training Session

A battle? This Early?!? If Geo had time to train things would be different, but after looking spoink up in the PokéDex, he realized things couldn't get much worse. Not knowing any moves other than a measly splash, spoink was left with absolutely nothing to defend itself, other than a few basic tactics. Could he win his first match? Maybe...

Birch grins as he gets a breath of fresh air. But at any rate, he could tell that the new trainer was a bit rattled by certain events. At any rate, even as he sends out his Whismur, he calls out to Geo.

"It's quite alright Geo, while Pokémon do have their supposed direct movesets, there are a few moves that are universal to all Pokémon. But either way, just do your best, this battle is just to get an idea on how far you are as a trainer. but with further ado, I'll attack first!"

"Now Whismur, start with a Howl, then Pound that Spoink!"

Whismur readies itself for battle... now what will Geo do?

Trying to clear his head, Geo began looking for possible moves. A simple tackle couldn't be to hard to preform, even for a magikarp.

"Ok my spoink (later I will name you), bounce upwards as he launches to pound you and then come down with a tackle."

Spoink tenses, waiting for Whismur to make it's first move.

Whismur starts eagerly, simply Howling to get its attack up, its blood boiling and it's ready to go. Either way, Spoink is a bit intimidated, but it doens't stop him from attacking, as he Bounces high into the sky, well not really, but he jumps pretty high, dodging the Pound, and flying right back with a Tackle, which knocks Whismur back a bit, but it doesn't look too hurt as the two ready themselves for battle.

Spoink is winning the battle on both ends, however slightly, but he's waiting on the Whismur who's only a few feet in front of him. Whismur doesn't look hurt at all from that tackle, but neither side would give up...

what will Geo do?

Geo was so excited. He was actually winning, even if by a very slight amount. He couldn't wait to go on his adventure!

"Ok my spoink, look cute by whipping your spring-tail, and then go in for a tackle, if whismur is far away. If whismur is in close range, bite him.

"Alright then Whismur, Astonish Spoink, then Pound him again!"

Whismur simply was quick, slamming into Spoink for some damage, but the Astonish doesn't work in stopping Spoink's clumsy Tail Whip, which does a bit less damage. However, Whismur simply grins at the next move, as Spoink goes in and Bites down on Whismur's ear, and the normal type doesn't like this, breaking the grip easily with a Pound to Spoink's stomach which sends the psychic type sprawling. At any rate, Spoink looks kinda hurt, as Whismur looks angry at the attack of its ear.

Both seem to be still able to fight but at any rate, things are not looking too good for Spoink, and even less so as Birch continues to order.

"Now Whismur, Double Team, then Pound!"

What will Geo do?

"Well to good to be true..." Geo thought with disapointment.

"Ok, Bite Whismur again and then match (his or her?) pound with a Tackle. Try to tackle around the punch, but if worst comes to worst hit it strait on."

Things don't go well, as somewhat quickly for its stature, Whismur moves and before Spoink could lunge at all, the normal type had split into multiple copies, or about three. Guessing, Spoink lunges for one, and is disappointed when its teeth sink into nothing, a puff of smoke revealing the Whismur to be fake. The other two move in to Pound him, and as Spoink moves in to intercept with a Tackle...

the second clone poofs into smoke, and Spoink is sent flying by a Pound to the back. He's slow to get up, but Whismur simply grins smugly, as this round of battle ends...

What will Geo do now?

"It's Ok spoink, you're most likely not going to win this one, but give it your all anyway. Spoink, make a cute little growl and then (staying as far away as possible) whip him with your tail.

Whismur grins, and as the Growl washes over him, Spoink is startled to see that it didn't do anything, as Professor Birch chuckles.

"Well Geo, that was a good try, but while Whismur's hearing is somewhat damaged, it's not that weak to sound moves, but I bet Spoink won't like this move. Now Whismur, Hyper Voice it, then set up a Smokescreen. Whismur grins, as while Spoink simply has to get up close to Tail Whip him, Whismur takes a deep breath before firing the energy, slamming Spoink away with the powerful blast. Either way, Spoink lands heavily, and as he struggles to stand, it's clear that the move did massive damage, even as the Smokescreen removes vision of Birch and Whismur from your direction. All you can hear is Birch calling out.

"Now Whismur, Double Team, then Howl one last time!"

Spoink manages to stand, if looking immensely pained, but he's still willing to fight on. What will Geo do?
