One of the many places in Jubilife City that trainer's often visit is the Pokémon Trainer's School to obtain more information about what might occur to their partners, so as to be prepared for all situations. When you arrive in Jubilife you may choose to enter the school and have a look around. If you do so, it is possible you may be able to obtain a very special move.

With his Pokémon rested and new items in his pack, Dave strode though the streets of Jubilife City. Now that it was daytime, the City was alive with the hustle and bustle of normal urban life. Feeling somewhat lonely, Dave called out the two Pokémon he thought could do with some more worldly experience. Namely: Pix and Ninjia.

The Cleffa nestled into his usualy position in Dave's arms, while the most recent addition to the team took up position on his shoulder, smiling happily, prompting her trainer to smile too. "Hey guys, good to see you back. Feel better for the rest?" he asked, at which both nodded. "Awesome. Right, let's find something to do." the trainer muttered, before looking around.

It wasn't long until he found something, an advert for the Pokémon Trainer's School in the city. The poster said that it was the best place for beginning trainers to get some extra information that may help them in the field. Dave pondered, before deciding that as a new trainer, it wouldn't hurt to get some more knowledge that may well help his Pokémon in battle.

"Sounds good... now where is it?" he murmured, looking around, until a tap on his head got his attention. Said tap was from Ninjia's tail-hand, and using the same appendage, she pointed at a building with the worlds 'POKÉMON TRAINER'S SCHOOL' in big letters across a banner at the top. Dave facepalmed. "Cheers for that, Ninjia. Let's go check it out, eh guys?"

With both Pix and Ninjia letting out cries of approval, Dave walked toward the building, heading inside. Within the School, he looked around, wondering what he could learn here...

As Dave, Ninjia and Pix walk into the school, they are surrounded by a large number of children, and the two small Pokémon quickly leap onto Dave's shoulders to prevent themselves being dragged away as a older teacher approaches you.

"So then, who are you and why have you disrupted my class with your Pokémon. Explain yourself or the security will show you the door sir!"

the teacher seems pretty angry, and you can hear something running down the hall... Dave better answer quickly before something bad happens...

what will he do now?

Dave was suddenly swarmed by schoolkids, all trying to grab at the Pokémon, who had taken refuge. Ninjia was hanging onto his head, while Pix was safely held in the Aipom's tail-hand. Trying to hear over the din of excited children, Dave turned to the teacher.

"Sorry! I thought that this would be a good place to come, being a new Pokémon trainer." he said, sweatdropping a bit. "...I guess that it's aimed at people a bit younger than me. I really am sorry for disrupting your class." the trainer said, stammering as he attempted to explain himself, before hearing something running along in the hall. Dave couldn't help wondering what it was, as he awaited the teacher's response.

The schoolteacher sighs in relief as she continues to explain.

"Well, that's fine then- but at the least wait for the receptionist. However, looking at those Pokémon I'm guessing that you are a Pokémon trainer who's heard of our school's challenge, yes?"

Dave was a bit surprised, but the teacher continues to speak.

"While you've met some of our younger children, the fact is that we do have this challenge for a few Hidden Power TM's, but at any rate it'll depend on your skills to succeed in getting what you want. So are you ready for that challenge?"

Dave doesn't really have time to think as a large Gallade rushes into the room, but he droops a bit as all the children had been shooed away, and there seemed to be no fight coming. Dave is a bit shocked, to say the least, as the teacher and Gallade begin to walk down the hall, towards a strange door. What will Dave do now?

Dave couldn't help but find his interest piqued at the mention of a challenge. TMs would always be useful, especially with certain members of his team lacking in offensive options right now. "Well, I didn't hear of any challenge, as such, but it sounds like it'd be fun. Anything to get my Pokémon more experience.

At this, he followed the teacher down the hall. Ninjia scooted back down to Dave's shoulder, while setting Pix down on the opposite one. As they walked, Dave was interested in the Pokémon that had joined them, fishing out his PokéDex to scan the new arrival: "Gallade: The Blade Pokémon, an evolved form of Kirlia. A master of courtesy and swordsmanship, it fights using extending swords on its elbows."

"Cool stuff." the trainer muttered, remembering the humanoid for later. By this time, the group had arrived at a strange door. "So, is this where it is?" Dave enquired, anxious for this 'challenge' to start.

The Gallade quickened it's pace as Dave and itself got nearer to the strange looking door. The Pokémon stopped once it was in front of it and pivoted on one foot to turn and meet Dave's gaze. The Gallade bowed it's head slightly before rising back up again to push open the strange door to an image of complete darkness. A second later a large flash of light sprang forth from the room causing Dave to put his arm up to protect his eyes. His Aipom, Ninjia covered it's eyes with it's tail as it reeled back slightly. Pix merely closed it's eyes and squinted hard before re-opening them as Dave entered the room behind the strange door.

The sight wasn't all that spectacular to behold as a large empty space was situated in the middle of the floor. The room was quite large, with rafters hanging above them along with spot and flood lights. Along the edges of the room were stands and seats for spectators to watch... Something. Dave couldn't quite put his finger on it for sure, but he had a relatively good idea of what this challenge held for him as he noticed slits in the floor in the shape of a square.

Suddenly the floor began to rumble and the slits in the floor appeared to consume a large portion of the ground as a huge square hole was erected from the floor. From it arose a giant platform situated with many different various stones and boulders scattered randomly among it. The structure appeared to be an arena for battling. After a few long moments the ground finally settled down and the platform that stood before Dave came to a halt. He then noticed a rather masculine voice behind him and quickly spun around to see who it was.

"Hey there, I'm Alex. Nice too meet you." A boy stood before him who appeared to be around the same age, his hand was extended which Dave politely took and shook. By his side was a red-colored bug Pokémon, a Kricketot. "I'm guessing your here for the challenge too? I've been waiting for another trainer to show up. If you haven't guessed it by now the challenge is a one-on-one Pokémon battle." The boy named Alex grinned. "You have to win three consecutive battles in order to get the prize. Chances are you're gonna be my third win in a row!"

The boy began to make his way to the other side of the battling arena, all the while shouting across the room to Dave. "Trick is, the arena type changes each time you battle someone, so the experience is always a little different. I've already battled on this one before, so I'll have a bit of an advantage. So why don't you hurry up and get to your position so we can start this battle? Kricketot, get out there! I'll be depending on you again, buddy."

As the boy named Alex appeared headstrong and eager, not to mention formidable having already won two battles in a row with his Kricketot only to send it out again, Dave heeded his opponents advice and began making his way to the trainers box on the opposite side of the arena.

What will he do next?

Dave looked awestruck at the sight of the battlefield. Having only ever battled randomly outside, he'd never had the privilege to use a custom-made arena. But he wasn't going to waste it. This Alex and his Kricketot looked tough, but Dave had been up against this species before.

As the trainer hopped onto his box, he decided to call back, "This should be a good challenge, Alex, but don't think I'm going to roll over and be another win! We're here to win too, starting with you!" Dave grinned, feeling confident, before turning to his two Pokémon.

"Hmmm... Pix, you sit back for a bit. Ninjia, we should see what you can do, being new to the team." The Aipom gave a wide grin, which is usual to her species, before hopping down. Looking back up at his opponent, Dave decided to make it official. "I'll be using my Aipom. If she can crush a Houndoom, she can definately crush a Kricketot!"

Ninjia made her way over, facing off with the little Bug-type amidst the boulders. Sensing that there was nothing left to do, Dave took a breath, before calling out. "Let's do this, Ninjia! Throw up a Sand Attack, then go in for a Scratch!"

"This should be a good challenge, Alex, but don't think I'm going to roll over and be another win! We're here to win too, starting with you!"

Alex grinned at his opponents confidence before shouting back across the stadium too him. "Yeah, that's what the last guy said!"

He waited patiently for Dave to decide what 'mon he wanted to send out to face his fearsome Kricketot. He grinned with confidence as he watched his 'mon dance around on the field for a bit while it waited for it's next opponent to be released.

"I'll be using my Aipom. If she can crush a Houndoom, she can definately crush a Kricketot!" Alex heard Dave shout forcing him to look up in disbelief. A Houndoom? Impressive. Perhaps this guy does know how to battle. He thought to himself meekly. After hearing Dave issue his orders to Ninjia he too called upon his Pokémon.

"Kricketot! Dodge that Sand Attack then rush in and Bite down on it's arm as it tries to scratch you." Alex grinned as he issued his orders, sure his plan would work.

The battle began with the Aipom known as Ninjia quickly spinning around and beginning to sweep at the ground with it's tail, attempting to kick up some Sand and use it too Attack her foe. The attempt was successful as a ton of nearby sand was quickly elevated into the air and blown towards the stationary Kricketot. Receiving it's orders in the nick of time the Kricketot spun out of the way of the flying sand and then quickly readied itself for a brutal Bite. He easily gained a good footing and thus launched himself at the Aipom as it was finishing it's previous attack. With very little time to react Ninjia quickly threw out her arm and extended her claws as she went to swipe at the Kricketot's face. She ended up with her arm being OM NOM NOM'd by the little bug and it's razor sharp teeth before she got the chance to try and Scratch it. The pain made Ninjia wince a little before the Kricketot dislodged itself from her arm and backed away towards it's trainer, clearly happy with it's performance.

With the first encounter between Ninjia and Alex's Kricketot being over it appears that the latter dominated the former dealing some very good damage to Ninjia. However, Kricketot worked a lot harder than she did and thus it is feeling a good bit more fatigued than her.

Alex nodded in assurance as he saw his Kricketot once again dominate the competition. "Fantastic, Kricketot. Keep the pressure on with a another Bite then stay back and take it easy. If it comes in close for an attack then put it off with a Growl.

Dave grimaced as his opponent managed to exploit his orders easily. Pix, nestling in his arms, cried out as Ninjia took a nasty hit to the arm. "Shh, little guy, it's ok. She's not even started yet." the trainer said, soothing the baby, before trying to think of some way to turn the tables.

"Right then, Ninjia, blind him as he comes in with a Sand Attack. While he can't see, smack him with a Tail Whip, that'll teach him!"

The Pastoria native crossed his fingers, as the Cleffa changed his tune, starting to cheer on his fellow Normal-type. We can do this... we have to do this... he thought to himself.

Alex sweatdropped a bit as he realized his orders were exploited.

His Kricketot obeyed him nevertheless, it's confidence in it's trainer not diminished as it failed to notice the change of expression on Alex's face. As the little bug quickly made it's way back over to Ninjia to Bite down on her arm again it's plans were quickly trounced as it got showered in a Sand Attack. The sand washed over the tiny little bug Pokémon and successfully slowed the Kricketot down and irritated it's eyes. The Kricketot was only slowed however and it did not falter in it's orders as it tried to continue it's Bite attack, unfortunately ending up chomping down on nothing but air as his teeth came very close to pinching down on Ninjia's purple strands of hair. Wasting no time Ninjia continued her trainers orders and before it had a chance to even rub the sand out of it's eyes the Kricketot was quickly Whipped aside by Ninjia's Tail, sending him reeling backwards in pain. Kricketot stumbled backwards but regained it's balance with relative ease as it's back came to a rather large boulder. He decided out of annoyance to Growl fiercely at Ninjia despite her attacks already being executed, 'causing her to cringe a bit as the bug ended off the round by rubbing the rest of the sand out of it's eyes.

Ninjia managed to even up the difference in health this round while not using up too much energy. Kricketot on the other hand used less energy than Ninjia this time but failed to land a hit. Both Pokémon appear to be fine though and are eager to continue the fight. What will Dave order next?

The trainer grinned, seeing his Aipom gain retribution. In his arms Pix cheered enthusiastically for his team-mate, while Ninjia smiled at the encouragement out on the battlefield. This wasn't any to slack off, however.

"Great job, lass! Now Growl right back at him! If he comes in for an attack, send him reeling with Tail Whip, but if he decides to stay away, shower him in another Sand Attack, let's send him to the opticians!" called Dave, thinking that they may just be able to get this off. This fiesty Bug would need carefuly handling...

Fortunately, Ninjia had just the hand for the job. On the tip of her tail, in fact.

Alex wasn't surprised how the round turned out, but it didn't stop him from frowning at the results. He had faith in his Kricketot though, besides this match was just getting started.

"Kricketot! Stay back and avoid the Sand Attack, then Tackle her to the ground! Give her a good Bite right after too!

Following his trainers orders Ninjia let off an equally as fierce Growl, attempting to scare Alex's Kricketot out of attacking. It semi-works however as Kricketot feels pretty discouraged but was only ordered to stay away from the monkey anyway. Seeing that her opponent is not in the mood for attacking Ninjia spins herself around again and begins kicking up another Sand Attack. The Kricketot hesitates as it follows it's trainers orders, getting some more sand in his eyes as he dives out of the way. Rubbing it's eyes a bit, Alex's Kricketot begins it's charge towards Ninjia whom gets knocked off balance by a fierce Tackle that unfortunately for Alex only clips Ninjia's arm sending her stumbling to the side a bit while dealing very minimal damage. Still a little hazy on where his opponent is Kricketot keeps up the assault by trying to OM NOM NOM Ninjia once again. He manages to clamp down on her tail as he ended up behind her after that last tackle, dealing some good damage.

"Ye-hah! That's the way, Kricketot! Batter that monkey with two more Tackles!" Alex calls out as the battlers finish executing their orders.

Ninjia took some more damage this round, providing a noticeable health gap between the two fighters. Her energy remains relatively high in comparison to her opponent however, who now appears to be quite tired and is beginning to pant. Kricketot's energy may be low, but his health remains pretty high above Ninjia's.

Dave winced as Kricketot again dealt a heavy hit to Ninjia. He had to think of something. Pix was still cheering away, but Dave had to dig deep to pull a stratgey together.

"Alright Ninjia, this is gonna be pretty unoriginal, but since he can't see you, use Tail Whip to smack him away. Then use Sand Attack once more, add to his blindness!" he called. He knew Ninjia could do this. If a Pokémon could drop a branch onto a Houndoom, it could definately beat a Kricketot.

Alex began grinding his teeth together, getting pretty passionate about the battle. He was one win away from winning the prize and there was no way he was going to be beat by some purple-haired monkey.

His 'mon was still having trouble seeing as it stood there rubbing it's eyes. Kricketot really disliked the idea of rushing forward blindly right now but obeyed his trainer like a good little Pokémon. With a hazy outline of what Kricketot assumed was Ninjia bopping around on her tail Kricketot readied himself and rushed forward, notably slower than usualy due to fatigue. As he ran forward Alex began yelling at his Kricketot, seeing as he was heading straight for a big boulder.

"No! No! That's not her, stop! Stop!" Alex cried, but it was too late. For some reason Kricketot was determind to please his trainer and thus he smashed into his intended target with a forceful Tackle. As he crashed hard against the boulder he ended up taking some damage and keeling over onto the ground. He took a moment before deciding to get up and try another Tackle. Before he was fully to his feet however he was thrown back to the ground by the real Ninjia this time as she Whipped the downed Kricketot with her Tail. Getting some sense knocked into him Kricketot got to his feet once again and this time headed straight for Ninjia. Alex grinned as he saw his Pokémon select the right target this time however the grin was wiped from his face as he saw the Aipom spew more Sand into his Pokémon's face. This Attack was not enough to stop the rushing Kricketot however as he slammed into Ninjia and forced her to the ground dealing some nice damage.

The battle was clearly coming to an end as Ninjia took some more good damage, bringing her pretty low on health. She managed to dish out some good damage as well though and, coupled with the damage Kricketot did to itself after Tackling that boulder, both Pokémon appear to be pretty even on health once again. Both 'mon are starting to get fatigued with both of their breathing becoming noticeable, however Kricketot's is much worse than Ninjia's.

Dave couldn't help but chuckle as his opponent's Pokémon ran headlong into a boulder, but soon straightened his face. Pix wasn't so lucky, the baby giggling happily in his arms. Dave glanced down at him, smiling again. Soon, little one, you'll have your chance. he thought to himself, before returning his attention to the battle.

"Right then Ninjia, he's blind and has no idea where you are. So use Tail Whip as many times as it takes to put him under, up to three, you can do it!" he called. Desperate times called for desperate measures, but he just had to pull through!

"Screw that! We're not going down that easy!" Alex roared with intensity. "Growl as many times as you need to too stop it from attacking you, then clean out your eyes so you can see."

Ninjia grinned as she sprung forward towards her opponent on her tail. As she was bouncing towards him Kricketot let out a Growl, attempting to unnerve his opponent. This plan didn't work out so well however after the display he put on last round by tackling that boulder. Ninjia simply giggles at the little Pokémon thinking of how cute it is growling like that. She viciously Whips him with her Tail sending him reeling backwards and shrieking in pain. Continuing her assault she springs forward a bit more, the Kricketot Growling at her once again which erupts more giggling from the purple-haired monkey. This drove Alex insane as he watched his Pokémon get slapped around by a giggling monkey. He cringed as he watched his bug 'mon try to wipe the sand out of it's eyes again as it slowly got to it's feet before being harshly Whipped to the ground by Ninjia's Tail. Over in Dave's arms Pix began to feel sympathetic for the little bug Pokémon as she watched it get thrashed around defenselessly. This time Kricketot wasn't sent reeling back but was instead whipped straight into the ground, and so before he had even gotten to both knees he was Whipped viciously once again by Ninjia's Tail. Taking three good attacks in a row, Kricketot could withstand no more and so it made no attempt to get up from that last Tail Whip as it laid motionless on the ground, unconscious and defeated.

A voice rang throughout the room from directly above Dave which made him look upwards immediatly for the source. A large quad megaphone was positioned in the middle of the roof.

"KRICKETOT IS UNABLE TO BATTLE! DAVE AND HIS AIPOM NINJIA ARE THE WINNERS!"

Level-up for Ninjia!

"Kricketot... Return buddy. You did your best." Alex said solemnly, hopping out of his box and making his way around to Dave's side of the arena. He extended his hand to shake Dave's once again, congratulating him on the victory.

"That's a pretty crafty little Aipom you have there. I had my doubts when you first told me, but it's pretty clear now that you weren't lying when you said it took down a Houndoom." Alex chuckled a bit before walking off towards the strange looking door. "Maybe I'll catch ya around sometime. If I do you can expect we'll be having a rematch." He said, not bothering to turn as he waved goodbye to Dave.

"WE WILL NOW HAVE A 10 MINUTE INTERMISSION PERIOD. TRAINERS, PLEASE PREPARE YOUR Pokémon FOR THE NEXT BOUT."

As Dave looked up at the megaphone on the roof once again he noticed a cheery looking woman in a nurses outfit standing beside a machine in the corner of the room. Upon further inspection he could tell that the woman was indeed a nurse and that the machine she was standing beside was designed to rejuvenate and heal Pokémon. If Dave wanted to use his Aipom again it'd be a good idea to make use of this chance while he had it.

He only had 10 minutes before he had to battle the next trainer, and who knows what would be thrown at him next?

Dave grinned as the Kricketot fell, earning him his first victory in this challenge. Pix had been feeling a little sorry for the Bug, but cheered as Ninjia returned to the box, looking exhausted and beaten, but happy at victory. Dave chuckled as she tiredly hopped onto his shoulder. "Haha, fantastic work, lass. I knew you were something, great job." Ninjia beamed at his words.

After bidding farewell to Alex, Dave spyed the healing booth in the corner of the room, making his way over there, pulling out Ninjia's PokéBall. "Now then, you just had a great battle, and I think you deserve a rest. Let's let the others take care of the rest of this challenge, eh?" The Aipom seemed to think she could take down the other two trainers single-tailed, but relented, and Dave handed the now-full PokéBall to the nurse.

"Hi there, could you heal my Aipom for me? She's just had an intense battle, and I'd like her feeling better as soon as possible." he enquired, handing the device over. After doing so, he turned around, Pix and himself looking at the battlefield, wondering who he'd be fighting next, and which Pokémon to use...

As Dave handed over his Aipom and it's respective PokéBall to the nurse by the machine in the corner of the room she smiled joyfully and assured Dave that she would take care of Ninjia for him.

Looking back at the arena Dave contemplated what 'mon he should choose next for the challenge as well as what trainer he would be facing again. After a few minutes a large ringing could be heard from the megaphone on the roof, and then a loud voice boomed over the sound of the ringing.

"PLEASE REMAIN BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE WHILE THE NEW ARENA IS BROUGHT OUT!"

Dave watched the arena slowly sink into the expanding chasm below the floor, the entire time the ground beneath his feet shook rather violently. He was able to keep his balance quite easily however, a tingling sensation surging up through his legs as the building shook. Soon, the entire rock arena that was once in the middle of the room was gone and the building was stationary once again. However it didn't take long for the rumbling to start up again as another arena began to rise up out of the ground. This time a large body of water about the size of an Olympic swimming pool emerged from the chasm. As the arena rose slowly out of the ground a bit of water spilled out of the pool and onto the floor below. The sound of it crashing against the ground below the elevated arena felt quite alien in the current environment.

After a few more moments the arena had fully risen out of the ground and was now ready to be battled upon. Dave noticed a few platforms for land-based Pokémon scattered around the pool quite evenly. He looked over towards the strange door from whence he came to notice a young woman about his age emerging from the doorway. She looked around cautiously, then looked back into the room she just came from before looking over at Dave. Her expression was hard to read as she made her way over to him.

"Hey, do you know what this whole challenge thing is about? That Gallade out there was terribly unhelpful. All he did was nod and bow at me." The girl commented, frustrated. "Oh, how rude of me. By the way, my name is Alice. It's a pleasure to meet you."

Dave took a few moments to explain to the girl what the challenge was. It was a fairly simple concept for him to explain, and when he was done the booming voice sprang forth from the quad megaphone attached to the roof. It was ordering Dave and the new challenger to make their way to their respective trainer boxes and prepare for the battle. This time, Dave took the box that Alex had been using in his previous battle.

"A little one-on-one sounds good to me," Alice stated, climbing into her trainers box. "Though I admit I'm not liking the way this arena is set up. I don't have any water Pokémon. I guess I'll just have to go with my Starly. Come on out, Kero! Make me proud!"

A pudgy little bird Pokémon erupted from Alice's PokéBall, landing on one of the floating platforms scattered around the pool. It chirped at Dave and fluttered it's wings as it looked around and took in it's surroundings.

What will Dave's response be?

Dave cursed his luck at seeing the arena, annoyed that he hadn't managed to catch any of his favourite Type yet. However, this irritation was pushed from his mind as his new opponent appeared, a girl around the same age as him. Huh... she's kinda cute. he thought to himself, but shook his head, remembering that they were here to battle, pushing that thought out of his mind as he explained the challenge to Alice.

With that over, the trainer climbed into his own box, overlooking the pool. He didn't have many Pokémon that could battle well here. All of them were restricted to land, though he reckoned A'Tuin and Gnawty might have a fair swimming ability, and Ninjia had her jumping prowess.

But Dave's mind was already made up, glancing down to the little bundle of pink in his arms. "You ready for this?" he murmured. In response, Pix gave a positive squeak, and jumped out of his arms. "Haha, awesome. Go on then, little guy."

The Cleffa nodded, and hopped down to a pontoon opposite Starly. He gave a little spin as he landed, before facing his opponent, ready to battle. Dave sighed, before thinking up what to do...

"Alright Alice, this should be a fun battle, so let's not go easy on each other! I'll use my Cleffa, he needs some battling experience! Now then... Pix! If it comes in to attack, then Charm it out of it, before hitting him with a Pound!"

As the two Pokémon moved to attack, Dave crossed his fingers, hoping his baby would be ok.

"Alright Alice, this should be a fun battle, so let's not go easy on each other!"

Alice grinned at Dave's response. "Don't worry, I didn't plan on it! Kero, Quick Attack it then fly up in the air to void it's Pound!"

The battle got off to quite a quick start as Kero fluttered it's wings, hvoering in the air for a moment before zooming off across the pool with a Quick Attack. As per his orders Pix attempted to Charm his opponent out of attacking, but Kero barely even saw the attack as he rushed into Pix at ludicrous speed, knocking him quite a ways back and almost making him fall off of the pontoon and into the water. He managed to stay on it however and quickly began to cross the pontoon to Pound on the head of his foe. Unnerved by the actions Pix was taking against him, Kero quickly fluttered his wings once more, albeit quite a bit more powerfully this time as he forced the air beneath his wings downward, propelling him upwards and into the air. His efforts were in vain however as he didn't get enough air in time. Pix was able to spring up into the air and deliver a hard smash on the Starly's head, sending him spiraling back down onto the Pontoon. As the round ended, neither Pokémon knew what to do as they stood at opposite ends of the same pontoon, awaiting their trainers orders.

Both 'mon managed to dish out some damage this round as Kero opted for a much weaker attack than Pix's. This resulted in Kero taking a bit more damage than Pix did. Kero also managed to exert more effort this round than Pix did, thus making Pix the clear winner of this first round. However, both Pokémon look pretty fresh and still ready to go.

"Darn, that sucked. It's alright though Kero, we can do this! Tackle that runt into the water, then fly back up onto another pontoon. Growl if it tries to come near your pontoon.

Dave grinned as his Cleffa managed to get ahead so early, the Starly showing off some impressive speed. This was no time to get complacent, however, that just led to overconfidence, and before you knew it, you were on your arse.

The trainer concentrated, thinking hard to come up with a strategy to work around those orders. Eventually, he managed to think of something unorthodox, and hoped it would work.

"Alright Pix, let's put your uniqueness to work! Try to Mimic Quick Attack, then Quick Attack before he can growl!" he ordered, hoping this could pay off as it did against that Zubat.

As Alice orders a rather aggressive set of moves for her Starly, Kero, Dave opts for a more strategic approach with his Pix. As the bird Pokémon readies itself for a Tackle, planning to smash the baby into the water, it is soon thwacked in the side by said baby Pokémon as it Mimics his opponent's Quick Attack from the previous round and smashes into him for some light damage. The Starly feels the attack but doesn't falter as it continues it's said plan of thrashing the baby Pokémon into the water. As it smashes into Pix, dealing some good damage, it regrettably succeeds in sending the 'mon overboard. As Pix splashes down in the water he begins thrashing around violently, having never swam before in it's life. Some how it manages to stay afloat and make it's way to the pontoon Kero is on. As it draws nearer to his pontoon the Starly attempts a Growl to force Pix away from it, however the tiny baby Pokémon barely even hears the noise as it fears for its life and quickly scurries up and onto the water-bound platform.

With the second round coming to an end Kero has managed to even up the score in terms of health and has taken the lead energy-wise as Pix used up a good deal of energy trying to get back to a pontoon.Pix stands on the opposite end of the pontoon that Kero is on. He is panting a bit and appears to be quite scared having just nearly drowned. Meanwhile Kero stands triumphantly on the other end of the pontoon, cocking it's head in pride and awaiting it's next orders.

Dave had gasped as Pix was knocked from his perch, and was on tenterhooks for a while until the Cleffa had fought his way back onto a Pontoon. He let out a sigh of relief as his baby hauled himself up and shook himself off, before thinking of some more orders.

"Alright Pix, if that's the way they wanna play, just Charm him, and smack him with another Quick Attack, play it easy this round!" he ordered, managing to formulate a plan for the future, hoping this would pay off...

"Don't give in to it's Charms Kero!" Alice called, "Headbutt it into the water, then wait for it to get back onto a pontoon and Tackle it back off again!"

As Kero began to prepare itself for a mighty Headbutt it was soon stopped in it's tracks as it noticed the sad expression on Pix's face. He looked up to Kero with his eyes widened, sniveling and getting all teary-eyed. Kero fought against Pix's Charm but ended up failing miserably as his wings drooped and his once proud stance diminished. Having successfully made Kero feel remorse for his previous actions Pix decided to let down the facade and Attack him rather Quickly by smashing into the birds side. The attack hit Kero off guard in a critical location and dealt a noticeable amount more damage than normal as he was sent reeling backwards off of the pontoon and into the water. He chirped loudly as his feathers were soaked with water, quickly fluttering them and shaking out almost all the water, allowing him to fly back up onto the pontoon that he had just fallen off of. Thoroughly angry about being tricked, the Starly threw himself at the baby once more, this time Tackle-ing it into the floor of the pontoon to end the round.

With the third round over Pix has managed to even up the score on both fronts as he dealt a critical hit to his opponent while using very little energy. The two are becoming a bit fatigued and their forms are looking a little bruised up.

"You dumby, I told you not to fall for it's tricks!" Alice shouted jokingly at her Pokémon. The Starly shot a cold glance at his trainer before realizing that she was only kidding. "Since it likes to use Quick Attack so much, Quick Attack it back, then fly up into the air and dive bomb at it with a Tackle!"

Dave chuckled as Pix managed to give Kero an impromptu Bird Bath, getting in a good hit as he did so. The would-be fisherman saw a chance to implement his plan, hoping that this would pay off.

"Great job Pix, you're looking great, little guy! Now then, focus on staying on the pontoon, then try to Dodge the tackle. Immediately use his momentum against him - launch into a Quick Attack to knock him back off the pontoon and into the water! You can do it, Pix!" he cheered, praying that this would work...
