Taking a stroll to Twinleaf Town...

Dezmond got back on Route 201 heading to Twinleaf Town to fetch Barry. Dezmond thought to himself Barry might be driving his Mother crazy of stories of what just happened, so he thought he would take his time and observe the Route. He noticed a few Pokémon minding their own business- mostly Bidoof. He also noticed a few things on the trees. He decided they were just probably small insects.

Dezmond then lifted his Pokéball to his belly-button and whispered, "Now, what should i name you..? Hmm.." While thinking about a name, he remembered the Pokébattle he just fought not more than 15 minutes ago. He remembered the Chimchar appearing out of the Pokéball. He remembered the colliding headbutt that would of cracked a humans skull. He remembered all the stupid rookie moves. But most importantly, he remembered winning. He smiled. "How 'bout the name 'Light'?" He asked the Pokéball, hoping Chimchar was listening. "Yeah, i like that name. I like it alot. How about you?" Dezmond looked up and noticed Twinleaf Town was only about One Hundred Fifty meters away. He walked just a little slower...

Dezmond traveled rather slowly down Route 201, clearly in no rush to meet up with Barry again. He took his time while he strolled down the beaten pathway, taking in the scenery as he did. The beautiful trees surrounding the route were a sight to behold with their tops lightly spirnkled with snow, the lightly snow-powdered bushes and grass only added to the winter-esque look of the route. After a few minutes of walking Dezmond noticed that he was quickly coming within distance of Twinleaf Town when something caught his eye, and his ears.

"Piiiii!" The sound echoed throughout the quiet route, stirring the Starly in the nearby trees and 'causing a few to flee out from the sides of the pine-covered evergreens. Dezmond's head quickly turned towards the direction the sound was coming from, there he saw a tiny Pichu hoping out of some tall grass and sprinting as fast as it could towards Dezmond. It's head was turned away from him, looking back at the bush from which it just came. Then suddenly another Pokémon emerged from the bush, a large red bug looking Pokémon with appendages akin to blades. As it came out of the bush it appeared to be chasing the tiny Pichu.

Dezmond watched as the Pichu turn it's head towards him as it tripped on a rock and was sent tumbling head over heels while the red bug Pokémon was gaining on it fast with one of it's arms held high in the air. The Pokémon's intentions were clear, and Dezmond only had a few seconds to react.

Will he selflessly help the Pichu, or leave it to it's fate?

Without even thinking, Dezmond knew what he had to do. He quickly threw the Pokéball containing the Chimchar near the red bug, releasing the Pokémon from the Red and White ball. "Quickly, Light! Headbutt that red bug!"

Without hesitation Dezmond whipped Light's PokéBall at the ground beside him 'causing it to split open around the middle prompting a large flash of light as a red laser emegred from the ball. Said red laser quickly took the form of the contained Chimchar recently nicknamed Light.

"Quickly, Light!" Dezmond barked. "Headbutt that red bug!"

Once again Light followed Dezmond's orders without even thinking, trusting in her trainer completely. She lowered her head and quickly sprinted off towards the red bug, quickly sprinting past the downed Pichu and ramming it's noggin' into it's surprised pursuer. The bug was knocked backwards as Light's head struck it in the stomach with a large amount of force, sending it reeling backwards in pain while Light the Chimchar bounced backwards towards Dezmond. Light landed gracefully on her feet while the red bug Pokémon stumbled backwards cradling it's stomach as the wind was knocked out of it. As it began to look up at it's attacker the first thing it noticed was the red hot flame crackling on the monkey's tail, and one look was all it took to send the bug scurrying away back into the bush from whence it came, clearly afraid of the fire-type and it's devastating SE attacks.

The Pichu got up slowly, tears welling up in it's eyes as it looked around for the red bug Pokémon that it was being chased by. All it saw was the heroic Chimchar named Light standing proudly before it, it's back turned to the electric type. Pichu then noticed the fleeing bug Pokémon while Light took it upon herself to shake her fist in the air triumphantly. After a few shakes of it's clenched hand the Pichu it just saved got up and threw it's arms around her neck, accidentally shocking her a bit as some electrical tendrils sparked from it's cheek as it cried out in joy for it's rescuer.

Seeing this Dezmond took it upon himself to come over to the two of them and perhaps even meet the Pichu himself. However this plan was quickly shot down as the Pichu took one look at Dezmond before crying out in fear and rushing off into the bushes. Light tried to stop it, calling out to her that Dezmond wasn't a bad person like that red bug that attacked it but the Pichu didn't listen. It jumped through a patch of grass and quickly disappeared into the bushes along the route.

Rather disappointed, Dezmond took a second before shrugging it off and collecting his Pokémon then continuing on to Twinleaf Town.
